LINE AND ALAIN
Be good, and live well! The same terms dictated the design and construction of the house and the annexes of Line and Alain’s house
Two bedrooms and two bathrooms, an office for work at home; as well as a large living area, make up the house. All this allows a great comfort in everyday life and to easily welcome the visit without having to maintain too large spaces.
The house is oriented South in order to take advantage of optimal solar contributions.
It is a one storey house, in order to be able to live there for a long time comfortably, and also, in order to feel anchored on the ground, to move outside and inside easily.
The lot was carefully chosen, with the directive to be able to develop a great food autonomy on the spot. The location in St-Armand is nothing hazardous, since this area benefits from a certain micro-climate favorable to market gardening.
A cold room (commercial type, refrigerated) and a large pantry, allow to preserve the fruit of the harvests realized on the spot. These elements were central in the design!
Finally, the living areas have been designed in such a way that fruit trees (lemon and fig trees) and sowing shelves can also be accommodated during the winter, which, taking advantage of the full south light and the high windows of the cathedral ceiling, actually flourish in the house. The large adjacent patio can accommodate potted plants during the summer.
